RED CORNER
Bread on the outside, protein in the middle. That is the entire definition. The fact that the bread is hinged instead of separated is an engineering choice, not a categorical one. Submarines are sandwiches. Wraps are sandwiches. A hot dog is a sandwich with better grip.
BLUE CORNER
A sandwich has two pieces of bread. One piece of bread folded around a tube of mystery meat is a taco at best and a structural failure at worst. If a hot dog is a sandwich, then a banana in a slipper is a sandwich. Get serious.
